Introduction

AquaMaster4 Mobile Comms

Summary and take away

Introduction

Long range flow metering
Key challenges

NRW - On average up to 25 – 30% of Manage supply with demand accurately yet

utility’s water is lost in network to leakage achieving lower cost
and theft

Urbanization, flooding, sustainable supply Constant obsolescence upgrades, unplanned

and climate changes down time and driving out to sites to
perform maintenance

Assurance for data confidentiality and Expertise Scarcity, not being able to have
integrity enough service personnel to maintain the
assets

Long range flow metering
Out of sight, still on your mind - key considerations

Power Communication needs to be achieved with a very low power budget. Minimize
need of additional hardware (due to power considerations)

Range Key measurement parameters should be transmitted over long distances.

Kbs/Mbs of data over several Kms

Latency Low latency – alarms and notifications. Near real-time monitoring

Security Communication should be secure, data integrity to be maintained, while keeping

away intruders

Remote access Device diagnostics should be accessible on demand remotely, device should be
able to be remotely configured and maintained

Reliability Interference and interruption free communication, direct access to device without
intermediary hardware

Cost of ownership Low cost of deployment, hardware operation and maintenance of network

Widely adopted Technology and networks used must be widely adopted and easily accessible

Future proof Technology and networks used must have a future relevance and must not be
obsolete in a short time

Long range flow metering
Optimal solution for your metering

ONE SINGLE BOX

With integrated “Measure , Log and Send” functionality

A box that can measure values from multiple sensors, log values for future use and transmit data over a long range telecom network

Multiple devices in the logging External loggers/RTUs have Data integrity and security needs Single Box integrated
and communication link means limited capability to access additional considerations when implementation vastly improves
additional power budget internal logs, limiting remote having additional devices in the the reliability of the overall chain
verification and OTA network due to fewer parts, lesser
maintenance possibilities linkages, and lower comms
overhead

Integrated loggers and bi-directional access from a remote location

Enhance Battery life by selectively configuring data measurement, logging and retrieval frequency

Measurement interval : 1s- 60s (ML)

Logging Interval : 15s- 15mins (LI)
Logger Retrieval: 15s -15mins (LR)
Data Transmission: 1hour – 24hours (DT)

Go Back in time to zoom in and investigate Process Values remotely,

Allows for setting higher frequency of logging, with lower frequency of data retrieval and transmission, allowing for
better resolution of data when needed, but lower power consumed otherwise

3 Loggers integrated in the device

AquaMaster4 Mobile Comms
Achieve lowest total expenditure with fit and flow

Reduce time and cost during installation and commissioning

Sensor memory IP68 to 10 m and up

enabling fit & flow to 5 m buriable
 Sensory memory stores all calibration factors, site settings and
serial numbers enabling users to fit and flow
 All sensors are IP68 NEMA 6P as standard. This allows sensors to
be submersible or for installations in chambers and metering pits
that are prone to flooding.

AquaMaster4 Mobile Comms
Reduce losses by minimizing NRW

 Low flow rate capability with a high turndown range (R) enables minimal
night flow rates to be metered accurately.
 External pressure transducer with no requirements for any additional
transmitter

Accuracy
<±0.3% of span

Manage leaks and pressure in your network – reduce waste and prioritize OPEX strategically

AquaMaster4 - Achieve lowest TOTEX with longer consumables’ life
Reduce OPEX by extending the life of consumables or eliminating the need for one

 Powered from Industry standard Lithium D Cells up to 8 years life, batteries

are user fitted and replaceable. Each battery can be replaced without loss of
logger contents enabling smooth switchover.
 Mains-only option with a backup power source can operate for up to 5 years
Battery AC Mains without power
 Solar/Wind power option uses a simple DC (6 to 22 V) connection from as
small as a 5 W solar panel/wind generator. With a built-in rechargeable super
capacitor backup power source can operate for up to 5 days without power
(depending on operating conditions)
