PASSENGER PLANES
An airliner (passenger plane) is a type of aircraft for transporting passengers
and air cargo. Such aircraft are most often operated by airlines.
PASSENGER AIRPLANE TYPES
PASSENGER AIRPLANE TYPES ARE:
1. Narrow body planes
2. Wide body planes
3. Regional
4. Smaller
NARROW BODY AIRPLANES
A narrow-body aircraft or single-aisle (passage) aircraft is an airliner
arranged along a single aisle, permitting up to 6-abreast seating in a
cabin less than 4 meters. An example of a narrow body airplane are the
airbus A320 family.
WIDE BODY AIRPLANES
In contrast, a wide-body aircraft is a larger airliner usually configured
with multiple passages and a fuselage diameter of more than 5 meters
allowing at least seven-abreast seating and often more travel classes.
It can have between 200 and 850 passengers and it is used for long
distance flights. Examples of wide body airplanes are Boeing 747 and
Airbus 380.
REGIONAL AIRPLANES
A regional airliner or a is a small airliner that is on short or medium
flights. This class of airliners is typically flown by the regional airlines
that are either contracted by or subsidiaries of the larger airlines.
Regional airliners are used for short trips between smaller towns or
from a larger city to a smaller city. It is a type of commercial aviation
and it can carry between 30 and 130 passengers. An example of a
regional airplane is ATR 72-600.
SMALL PASSENGER PLANES
Small passenger planes are not acrobatic and it can carry between 1
and 19 passenger. They are usually used for parachute jumping, for
sports, recreation and pleasure. Some of them are also private.
Types of small passenger planes are Falcon 5e and Learget 75.
