TSPSC - Challenges and Way Forward
26 notifications are issued by TSPSC, out of which exams were conducted for 20
notifications.
TSPSC prepared general ranking list in 10 examinations by following vertical reservation
to women.
TSPSC desires to conduct exams online by hiring organizations like TCS or any other
agency approved by the Government.(UPSC is following offline method for prelims)
The new Presidential Order in the State has led to unrest among the candidates because of
new norm for local and non-local candidates.
TSPSC feels that all such issues should be reflected on website, before the release of
notification.
Legal Framework
TSPSC is facing number of cases in High Court, the same may be attended by forming a
dedicated Legal Cell.
Chairman may be given the discretion to decide the remuneration of judicial officers to be
employed in Legal Cell.
Hon’ble High Court has given directions to follow horizontal reservations instead of vertical
reservations.
Decision may be taken to withdraw SLP filed in the Hon’ble Supreme Court against the
cancellation of Group-I exam by Hon’ble High Court. This will pave the way for TSPSC to
proceed with new notification and recruitment.
If SLP is withdrawn, Government should consider all the candidates who have attended
Group-I prelims earlier, to write exam by way of age relaxation.
Logistics and Finance
There is an acute shortage of staff and hence, specific rules may be framed for the
recruitment of lower level officers i.e., ASO, Data Entry Operators, etc.,
Staff who are recruited on Compassionate grounds to be sent back.
Officers of the rank of Dy. Collector who can co-ordinate with Districts in conducting
exams may be posted to TSPSC.
A Professor may be appointed as Controller of Examinations.
