Compute the Electrical Parameters of the Circuit
What is Ohm’s Law?
Ohm’s Law
Ohms Law is a principle discovered by George Simon Ohm. This law
explains the relationship of current (I), voltage (V), and resistance (R).

1. Voltage is measured in volts. It is the energy

that pushes the current to flow in a circuit. This is
the electrical charge that is normally stored in
electrical supply.

explains the relationship of current (I), voltage (V), and resistance (R).

2. Current is measured in amperes. It is the rate of

electricity that flows in a wire. It measures how
much electricity is flowing or how many electrons
are moving in a circuit in a unit of time.

explains the relationship of current (I), voltage (V), and resistance (R).

3. Resistance is measured in ohm represented with

a Greek letter or symbol (Ω). This is responsible for
limiting or controlling the current that flows
through a circuit.
The formula for Ohm’s law is:
OHM'S LAW
Use the formula for finding voltage to
calculate the problems below. V = (I) (R)

Where:

V – amount of electrical pressure in volts

V I – intensity of current in amperes
I R
R – amount of resistance in ohm

CURRENT ELECTRICITY
Match the terms to the correct descriptions.

ampere amount of charge that moves past a certain point each second
conductors continuous flow of electric charge
current electricity SI unit of measurement for current
direct current (DC) material that does not transfer electric charge well
alternating current (AC) potential difference that causes charges to move in a circuit
electric current measure of material's electrical resistance
resistance electric charges flow in alternating directions, repeatedly
insulators material that permits an electric current to flow easily
voltage electric charges move in one direction

Ohm’s law defines the relationship
between voltage, current, and resistance.

Let’s wrap it up : Current is what flows on a wire or

conductor like water through a pipe.

Voltage is the difference in between two

points in a circuit.

Resistance determines how much current

will flow through a component.
