Mixing Process
EQ y Dynamic
Equalization:
Eliminate unwanted frequencies and highlight tonal characteristics. my example:
Drums: High pass filter on the kick and boost around 100 Hz.
Voices: Low pass filter and boost at 2-4 kHz.
Compression:
Control the dynamics of each track. My example:
Bass: Compressor with fast attack to smooth out transient peaks.
Initial Clip Vs Mixed Clip
Effects:
Add reverb and delay for space and depth. My example:
Vocals: Moderate reverb.
Panorama:
Place each element in its place in the stereo field. My Example:
HH to the left, Tom 1 in the middle, Tom 2 to the right , snare & kick in the middle and OH
and Rooms in L and R.
Initial Clip Vs Mixed Clip
The mixing process requires attention to detail and understanding of frequencies and
dynamics and strategic use of EQ, compression, effects and panning to transform a raw
recording into a polished, professional production.
