CLIENT SERVER NETWORK

CLIENT SERVER LAN:


 Is a network in which one are more computer work as server and other as client.
Server computer:
 provides services for the client.
 Also called Host.
 Control access to the hardware and software on the network.
 provides centralized storage area for programs, data and information.
Client computer:
 Request resources from the service.
 Server computer is more powerful then client and contain more memory.
CLIENT SERVER NETWORK
Dedicated Server:
 Some server are known as dedicated server.
 Used to perform a specific task.
For Example:
 File server is used to store and manage file.

 Print server is used to manage printers and print jobs.


Advantages and Disadvantages of client-
server

 Each computer stores files on its own storage device.
 Application software are installed on every computer.
 Suitable for home business and home users.
 Windows provides peer-to-peer network utility.
