o Characters
 Othello,Iago,Desdemona,Roderigo,Emilia,Brabantio,Cassio,Bianca,The Duke of Venice
o Background
 Othello and Desdemona Fall in love and run away together to get married. Everything is fine until
Desdemona’s Father finds out about marriage.
Conflict
◦ The conflict comes in few different ways. First, Desdemona’s father
gets angry that his daughter secretly married a black man. Next, it
looks like war with Turks. Then, cunning Iago planning a
destruction.
Rising Action
◦ Iago arranges his plans for Cassio to lose his position as lieutenant,
and gradually suggests in an indirect way to Othello that
Desdemona is unfaithful.
Climax
◦ Emilia finds handkerchief, gives it to Iago and he leaves it for
Cassio to find. Iago tells Othello that Cassio confessed to sleeping
with Desdemona. Othello ambushed by his own jealous thoughts.
Cassio’s first fight with Roderigo.
Falling Action
◦ Cassio has been demoted because he was drunk in public and
wounded Roderigo. Iago attempts to kill Cassio but the attempt was
unsuccessful. Roderigo dies from Iago’s stabbing.
Resolution
◦ Othello kills his wife because of the suspicion. Emilia confesses to
Othello what really happened. Iago kills Emilia and then captured
by Cassio, Lodovico and Montano. After that, Othello kills himself
and lays on top of his wife. Cassio arrests Iago and send him to jail.
