MRR in Turning
MRR in Turning
A steel bar of 200 mm diameter is being straight turned at a cutting speed of m/min. The
depth of cut is 4 mm and feed is 0.25 mm/rev. Determine the rotational speed in rpm, feed
rate in mm/min and material removal rate in mm3/s
A steel bar of 200 mm diameter (with triangular slot) is being straight turned at a cutting
speed of m/min. The depth of cut is 4 mm and feed is 0.25 mm/rev. Determine the material
removal rate in mm3/s
MRR in Drilling
MRR in Drilling
A solid carbide drill of 12 mm diameter is drilling a hole in a steel plate of 50 mm thickness at a
cutting speed of m/s. The solid carbide drill has two main cutting edges and feed has been set at
0.05 mm/flute or cutting edge. Determine the rotational speed of the drill in rpm, feed rate in
mm/min and material removal rate in mm3/s.
A solid carbide drill of 12 mm diameter is drilling a hole in a steel plate of 50 mm thickness at a
cutting speed of m/s. The solid carbide drill has two main cutting edges and feed has been set at
0.05 mm/flute or cutting edge. There is a pilot hole of 8 mm diameter in the plate. Determine
the material removal rate in mm3/s.
