Electrical
Engineering I am going to graduate from high school and my
career plan is to prepare myself to become an
electrical engineer and be financially stable. An
electrical engineer is a person who designs,
develops, tests, and supervises the manufacture
of electrical equipment.

Becoming an electrical engineer is a dream of

mine and many others but there are many things
you should consider before making it your career
choice. These include finance, school,
requirements and skill, and work-life balance
 The three best-paying jobs in the field are Electrical design engineer,
instrumentation engineer, and system engineer (Asghar n.p).

 As of 2023, the U.S. BUREAU OF LABOR STATISTICS stated that, “The Average
salary for an electrical engineer is $182,210 a year” (U.S. Bureau of Labor
Statistics).

 "The minimum hour is $54.83 in Colorado” and “The average hourly wage for an
Electrical Engineer I in the United States is $38” (U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics).

Research and  It takes five years to get a bachelor's degree and 120 credits in courses are
needed to graduate from college/university (Chron Contributor).

Interview  Apart from school programs, internships and engineering programs

are important to get a head start (U.S. Bureau Of Labor Statistics). Internships and
engineering programs will prepare you for job opportunities.

 My Interviewee, Antonio said, “You are required to have a 3.0 GPA or above to get
a job in this field”. Having a GPA lower than a 3.0 is not going to get you a
job and you will mostly not graduate with that having it above a 3.0 is crucial.

 My interviewee said, “Always be mentally prepared for work because if you

are not it is going to drain you and you might not be able you work."
