1. Group into 3.
2. Silently read Dr. Seuss’ famous children’s
story, “How the Grinch Stole Christmas!”
3. Change the point of view of the story from
third to first person by also changing the
person of the pronouns from third to first. In
the story, the narrator becomes the Grinch.

4. You can also change nouns into pronouns
sparingly, or when necessary.
5. Before the changing the story’s POV, read the
entire story first.
6. Underline the third-person (nouns and)
pronouns that you will change in the story.
Immediately above each third-person pronoun,
write the its first-person counterpart.
