Importance and Problem
• Logical connectors enable writers to link ideas, sentences, and
paragraphs effectively, creating cohesive and coherent text
(Hyland, 2004; Leki, 2007; Swales, 1990).

• Many students struggle to use logical connectors correctly,


leading to unclear and disjointed writing (Leki, 2007).
Gap and Material Purpose
• Many writing instructors struggle to integrate logical
connectors into their teaching practices, often relying on
anecdotal evidence or intuition rather than empirical research
(Leki, 2007).

• Developing targeted instruction on logical connectors


grounded in empirical research can provide students with the
skills to use logical connectors effectively (Hyland & Tse, 2005;
Leki, 2007).
Subject Matter and ILO
• SUBJECT MATTER: Using logical connectors for coherent
writing

• ILO: By the end of this workbook, students will be able to use


logical connectors to link sentences and create coherent
paragraphs.

• The workbook follows a consistent structure for each chapter,
beginning with a recall activity to assess prior knowledge,
followed by a discussion and exercises based on Bloom's
taxonomy. Answer keys are provided at the end of each
chapter to facilitate self-assessment and learning.
