• First login to Transnet 2.0, Then please click the
“GIS” menu, and then select “Full GIS app” link.

Menu Bar is having options like Maps, Manage Data, View Reports, and Help links.

● Please use “Cables & Stations ” map to view uploaded cables and stations.
● Use “Live Cable Faults” map to view live OFCable faults as per FMS.
● Use “Fn. unit entry” map to enter new functional units into GIS database.
● Use “cable Map - OD unit wise” map to view only the respective OD units maintaining
cables as per Location Manager and OFCNet linking.

● Please use “Upload kml files” option to upload a KML file.


● Use “Upload a photo/image” option to upload images photos related to OFCables.
● Use “Manage your data” option to delete your controlled stations and cables from GIS.
● Use “Store a FU from lat,long” option to create a functional unit in GIS by giving latitude
and longitude. You can use this option with LAN only to create a FU from lat,long.

Please use “view Reports” option to view comprehensive report of station wise
cables and stations and corresponding GIS entries.

To upload a KML file, select “Upload kml files” option under “Manage Data”

1. First select the kml file from your computer by clicking “choose file” option.
2. Then press “Start processing” to upload the kml to GIS server.

After uploading, you will be presented with a page like shown above. Now you are just viewing the
contents of your KML file, still you are not uploaded anything to GIS database.
1. Point Tab, it contains all Point Data(DTS stations) in your KML
2. Lines Tab, it contains all Cables data in your KML file
3.You can filter the contents by entering required string

Now, to upload a DTS from Points Tab, in the “Status” field enter the name of
the DTS Station without the common word DTS, as “chandga” for “DTS
Chandgad” and select the correct option from Drop down and press “Save”
Button to save this DTS to GIS Database.

If the point stores correctly, you will get “Point Uploaded Successfully”. Now
You stored DTS Chandgad successfully to BSNL GIS Database.
If there is any error it will be informed suitably.

Same way you can upload Cables also to BSNL GIS Database. Here you have to type either
starting or ending station name, and select the apt OFCNet cable name from the drop-down.

After selection you can ‘check’ the validity of the kml against the selected OFCable. The
following parameters will be checked.
1. Both end functional units are stored or not in GIS database.
2. Is it a single unit maintained cable or partial cable.
3. OFCNet rkm and kml length are matching or not.
4. Whether kml end points are within 25m from their respective functional units or not.
Here, as we selected wrong cable its showing corresponding issues.

If the given kml and the selected OFCable matches, you can get an alert as shown above. It
shows all checks are performed and all are within limits, and the kml is ready to upload.

Now, you can see the ‘Save’ button next to the ‘Check’ button, by which you can upload the
given kml to GIS database.
Once the cable is saved in the GIS database, you can see the acknowledgement as ‘Cable
uploaded successfully’ as shown in the point 2.

Note: If a cable is maintained by two subdivisions, then concern people only able to upload
their partial cables.

FAQs

● Maps are refreshed hourly, so uploaded cables/stations will appear in the next hour
● Please use “Google Chrome” , we are working and testing in it.
● Even after one hour if you are not seeing the uploaded data in the Map, the fault may be
your browser’s cache memory. To delete it, please press “CTRL+SHIFT+DELETE” and
select “the beginning of time” from drop down and “Empty the cache” option,
and press “clear browsing data” to delete it.
