GARDENS
Objective
• Assume the role of a team of sustainable garden
designers to install a vertical garden and identify its
importance in the reduction of carbon dioxide in the
environment.
Students will:
•grow food/herbs for their family and friends.
•grow flowers to contribute to community aesthetics.
•upcycle old containers into new gardens to limit waste.
•develop patience and care-taking skills through nurturing plants to desired growth.
Are you looking for a simple, easy, and cheap way to create a
garden?
Vertical Gardens are green gardens that grow up rather than
out. People usually install them to save space but they also can
offer fascinating aesthetics.
•They are simple to construct.
•They are created using recycled materials in order to limit
waste.
•They can be transferred from place to place.

2. STEPS TO INSTALL A VERTICAL GARDEN
Materials:

•Plants or seeds (house plants, outdoor plants,


herbs, fruits, vegetables, low-light plants, full-
sun plants, etc.)
•Recycled Containers.
•Soil
•Command Strips.
Tools*: Hammer , Nails, trowel, gardening
gloves, pocket Knife and/or Scissors.

Step 2: Plant selection

Plant Selection: All types of small plants should work for these vertical gardens, such as
fruits, vegetables, herbs, and flowers.
Step 3: Planting

Step 4. Choosing the place you want to put the pot. 1.PLAN YOUR VERTICAL GARDEN.
2.CHOOSE YOUR FRAME OR BASE. Your
base is what your plants will be installed
onto.
3.INSTALL YOUR POTS AND PLANTS. Now
it's time to get things growing! ...
4.SET UP YOUR VERTICAL GARDEN! ...
5.INSTALL IRRIGATION (OPTIONAL)
Step 5: Plant care
Make sure to water your plants
every other day for maximum
satisfaction. Only water if the
top of the soil feels dry. Too
much water may damage your
plants.
