Subject Verb Agreement

If there is compound conjunction ‘and’ that works as a ‘+’. Which means that Ram and
Shayam are playing; not is playing as and worked as ‘+’ here.

But sometimes when and refers to the same thing we use singular verb like the president
and director is good looking; not are good looking as the president is the director but if
there would be the president and the director than that would ‘be are good’, as well as in
bread and butter, my life and my wife we use singular verb as they refer to the same
thing.
Singular Subject

If there is some/every/no V4 + singular subject ,

Every (noun) + sub.
+body and more. Many.

All of , few of , some of ,

lot of , amount +
one, one of, either, either
uncountable noun .
of, neither, neither of ,each Pair + singular verb.
Remember for countable it
of.
is plural like a lot of people
love playing football.
 Boys/parents/buses/bananas/photos etc.

Many/several/both/these/those/others.

a few , A number of+ plural noun.

Plural Subject
Men/women/police/oxen/children/people/feet/teeth/gees/
goods.

There / here + plural verb + plural noun. Remember that if

there is singular verb and noun that will be singular verb.
