CHAPTER I

THE PROBLEM AND ITS SCOPE

INTRODUCTION
Human activity is the main cause of Global warming, Examples of
flooding, storm surges, sea-level rise, temperature rise, precipitation
unpredictability, and extreme weather conditions. In Zamboanga del
Norte we experience a mild and moderate climate due to evenly
distributed rainfall throughout the year. Education is an essential element
of the global response to global warming. Global warming education has
been introduced into the Nepalese school curriculum in many disciplines
since 2014. Climate change research has focused on environmental
rather than health implications of climate change, despite its obvious
THEORITICAL FRAMEWORK

Global warming could be brought about by increases in

the concentration of atmospheric carbon dioxide due to human
activities, primarily through burning fossil fuels. This study is
supported by the Callendar effect theory, which was written by
a British engineer named Guy Stewart Callendar who died in
1964.
Conceptual Framework
STATEMENT OF THE PROBLEM

This study aimed to determine the

perception of students towards Global Warming
in Zamboanga del Norte. Particularly, the Senior
High School Students in each institution. It
caught to answer the following question. Is there
a significant difference between the respondent's
demographic profile and their perception of
global warming?
SCOPE AND LIMITATION OF THE STUDY

This study focuses on the effects of global

warming towards the people on Zamboanga del
Norte, specifically the city of Dipolog City and
Dapitan City. The respondents of this research
are the people living in Dipolog City and Dapitan
City, specifically the students. Some jobs and
careers rise or falls as the season and climate
changes.
SIGNIFICANCE OF THE STUDY

Climate change can be harmful to our ecosystem such as

temperature rises, drought, insect outbreaks, etc, it also helps us
predict how much rain will pour and how sea-level rise. We can
identify which regions well likely to be affected and which species
are endangered or threatened by Global Warming.
This study is conducted to benefit the following:
• News channel
• Teachers
• Students
• Future Research
CHAPTER II
Climate change is a long-term change In the Earth’s climate or in that of
a region on Earth, but now usually refers to changes cause by human activies.
Understanding the causes and effects of global warming is one of the grandest
challenges facing today’s scientists and the public. Global climate change is
already having an impact in the province and these effects will escalate in the
coming decades. Finally and importantly, human well being depends on the
vital, life-supporting goods and services (e.g., clean air, clean water, productive
soils, soil and water conservation, flood control and many other benefits)
inherent in natural ecosystems the extent and nature of climate change impacts
on human health vary by region, by relative vulnerability of population groups
and by the extent and duration of exposure to climate change itself and by
society's ability to adapt to or cope with the changes.
SYNTHESIS

All the mentioned review literature and studies dealt

with climate change and its effects on global warming. The
present study deal with the perceptions of the students
towards global warming in the Zamboanga del Norte.
CHAPTER III
Research Design

• The descriptive research design was utilized in this

study to explore and observe the pupils' perspectives on
global warming.
• "To portray the features of persons, circumstances, or
groups and the frequency with which particular
phenomena occur; these investigations observe,
describe, and document parts of a scenario as it
naturally occurs," writes Helen L. Dulock (1993),
Respondents of the Study

The survey's participants are Andres Bonifacio College

Senior High School students. The respondents of this study
are, namely, the researchers' personal friends, who were
enrolled for the Academic Year 2021-2022 from Grade 11.
Furthermore, the respondents must be between the ages of 16
and 19. If they were in Grade 11, senior high school students
were eligible to participate in the study 25 met the survey's
requirements, as well as their willingness to participate. The
non-probability sampling method was applied.
