Step 1: University
My Program, and Where I’m Going..
The first step on my journey to working in the forestry field is getting a
bachelor's degree that is approved by the FPBC (Forest Professionals of
British Columbia) board.
I have been accepted into The University of British Columbia to work
towards a Bachelor of Science with a major in Forest Ecology and
Management and a Minor in Animal Conservation.
This is not only an improved course by the FPBC but also a highly
accredited one. UNBC is particularly known for its ecology programs, and
because it is located in a town built on logging, you can make many
connections there.

Other than the last 2 classes I needed to complete, my 90% average was
more than enough to get me into the school. My average, paired with having
all of the required classes I was able to get accepted into the school.

There are the top 3 jobs within the field that I have interest in, However I am
strongly leaning towards forester.
