Introduction

 Chola MS has assigned Mr. Firdous Ahmad Reshi as Driver Management Center (DMC) counselors.

Objective
 To improve the efficiency of the DMC operation and achieve 100% counseling of drivers in a progressive manner.
 To identify the actual available time for counseling for each driver.
 To identify the actual available time for checking the vehicle.

Scope
 To study the process of Factory operation and transportation.
 To study the available time of drivers for counseling and vehicle inspection.
 Focus on repeated vehicles and drivers.

Introduction of HUL Jammu Depot
 Hindustan Unilever Limited Jammu Depot Factory has no warehouses at any
locations, and the primary warehouse is at Jammu Depot beside the factory.
(Refer to Slide 5) Overall operation is Mostly from

Transport Operations-Secondary operation (Jammu Depot)
 HUL operates all the Secondary Operations.
 15-25 Vehicles are local and 30-45 Vehicles are required a day for Upcountry in Secondary Operations.
 Major Locations and the vehicle requirements
 All over JK
 10% of vehicles are dedicated, and 90% of the Vehicles are market hired.
 50% are open and 50% are containers
 Peak load dates are 01 to 15 and 25 to 30.
 Peak loading time is 08:00 pm to 04:00 PM.
 A TAT of 03 Hrs is being followed for the loading of vehicles.
 The vehicle has to move to various loading bays to complete loading across all warehouses.
 Minimum load dates are 16 to 24

RECOMMENDATION

 DMC be shifted next to the transporter’s room as 100% of drivers of


secondary movement visit the transporter’s room to collect the
loading slip.
 Hygienic toilets, drinking water, and proper rest area be provided to
the drivers.
 Driver’s waiting time is 60 minutes after loading and unloading while
waiting for invoice generation to be utilized to conduct the DDT.
The driver should also use all the PPE (Reflective jacket, Hamlet, etc)
