 It is a less dangerous types of eruption.
 It is one of the most beautiful
to watch, during at night.
 It is mildly explosive at discrete but fail
regular intervals o seconds to minutes.
 Giusepe Mercalli
 It has a volcanic explosivity index of about 2
to 3.
 It eject some viscous basaltic lava and
some fragments result by
explosion such as

Examples of a strombolian eruption:
Paricutin eruption;1943
 200 mile West of Mexico
 February 20,1943
 Helps the scientists were able to
observe the life cycle of a volcano.
 Rumbling noises & thunder but the sky
were clear clouds.
 A scoria cone and produce finer
fragments burning that covered the
whole paricutin village.
Eruption in Paricutin,Mexico
Mt. Erebus in Antarctica
 3,794 m. or 12,447 ft.
 Sixth highest ultra mountain on an island
 Southern most active volcano
 Located on Ross Island
 Its magma came from its plume (erebus
plume)
Mt. Erebus in Antartica
Stromboli in Italy:1932
 World’s most visited small-volcano
island in Italy.
 Known as the “LIGHTHOUSE OF THE
MEDITERRANEAN”
 Have spectacular eruptions of jet
fountains of molten rocks & lava
