Satu dari empat Kitab Allah, Al-Qur'an, diberikan kepada manusia sebagai
pedoman hidup, terutama umat Muhammad SAW. Kitab Suci ini dianggap
oleh kaum muslimin sebagai wahyu yang diturunkan Allah SWT kepada
manusia melalui nabi Muhammad sawAl-Qur'an, yang merupakan kitab
suci umat Islam, berfungsi sebagai sumber hukum dan ajaran Islam selain
Al-Hadist

Makkiyah adalah ayat yang diturunkan di
Makkah dan wilayah sekitarnya seperti
Hudaibiyah, Mina dan Arafah. Begitu juga
ayat Madaniyah adalah ayat yang
diturunkan di Madinah dan wilayah
sekitarnya seperti Sil’, Quba, dan Uhud.

Perlu diperhatikan penamaan Makki yaitu ayat yang
diturunkan sebelum Nabi Muhammad SAW hijrah,
meskipun tempat turunnya bukan di Makkah .
Sedangkan Madani yaitu ayat yang turun setelah Nabi
hijrah, sekalipun turunnya bukan di Madinah.

“Pada hari ini orang-orang kafir telah putus asa

untuk (mengalahkan) agamamu, sebab itu janganlah
kamu takut kepada mereka, tetapi takutlah kepada-
Ku”

‫( أمنوا‬wahai orang-orang yang beriman).
