ROAD CRASH INCIDENTS
ROAD CRASH INCIDENTS – are a significant concern not
only in Olongapo City but also globally. These incidents
result in loss of lives, injuries, property damage, and
economic costs. Understanding the causes and
consequences of road crashes is essential for effective
traffic management and safety enforcement.

Road and Traffic Rules Reminder
• Speed Limits: Always adhere to posted speed limits. Adjust your speed
according to road and weather conditions.
• Seat Belts: Ensure everyone in the vehicle wears a seat belt at all times.
• Traffic Signals: Obey traffic signals, including stop signs, traffic lights, and
pedestrian crossings.
• Turn Signals: Use turn signals to indicate your intentions when turning or
changing lanes.
• Distractions: Avoid distractions such as texting, eating, or using electronic
devices while driving.
• Following Distance: Maintain a safe following distance behind other vehicles
to allow for reaction time.

DUTY OF DRIVER IN CASE OF
ACCIDENT
In the event that any accident should occur as a result of the
operation of a motor vehicle upon a highway, the driver present,
shall show his driver's license, give his true name and address
and also the true name and address of the owner of the motor
vehicle.

No driver of a motor vehicle concerned in a vehicular accident


shall leave the scene of the accident without aiding the victim,
except under any of the following circumstances:

1. If he is in imminent danger of being seriously harmed by any


person or persons by reason of the accident;

2. If he reports the accident to the nearest officer of the law; or

3. If he has to summon a physician or nurse to aid the victim.

local and foreign tourists.

7. Recklessness of drivers.
RECOMMENDATIONS
1. Maximize deployment of traffic enforcers and strict
enforcement of traffic laws.

2. Intensify operations against violations of RA 4136, City


Ordinances and other related laws under LTO.
3. Conduct of dialogues/information campaign for all transport
groups and drivers.
4. Regular Radio and TV guesting for traffic related issues for
public awareness.
5. Installation of reflectorized road stud and metal railings
situated along Kalaklan Road.
7. Additional Warning Signs in identified accident-prone areas.
