Challenges

LLC resonant converter:


o Small magnetizing inductance
o Low minimum switching frequency

ÞConduction Loss in Primary Circuit


ÞEfficiency, power density is decreased
ÞRMS current flowing through the output capacitors
become large

 Using a dual half-bridge LLC resonant converter


with hybrid rectifier circuit.
 Two operation modes: voltage doubler mode and
voltage quadrupler mode
 Reducing the output current ripple

Conclusion

Regulates output voltage over a wide range with narrow switching


frequency variation.
Decreases the number of output capacitors by reducing output
current ripple.
Increases the power density of the converter.
Achieves high efficiency under voltage quadrupler mode.
Ideal for applications requiring a wide output voltage range
and high power density, such as battery chargers.
