Introduction Heat harnessing methods have evolved into
many forms since the discovery of fire, the
earliest of which being geothermal lava.
Geothermal energy is used in so many ways
and humans use it for things such as
cooking, bathing, space heating, electrical
power generation and other uses. It is mainly
produced by the radioactive decay of
potassium, thorium and uranium in the
earth's crust and mantle and also by friction
generated along the margins of the
continental plates. Geothermal power plants
then harness the steam to produce other
forms of energy.

Impact on Society
In today’s world, geothermal energy is more prevalent and commonly used
when compared to the past. It has a long list of uses, some of which include:

● Providing heat to buildings

● Powering communities with electricity

It is also utilized in the industry for food dehydration, milk pasteurizing and
gold mining. Geothermal energy is also used in the form of hot springs, a
leisurely location for which geothermal energy was first known at the time of
its discovery.
Impact on Technology
There are three main types of geothermal energy power plant technologies:

electricity. After the steam
condenses, it is constantly
reinjected into the reservoir.
Impact on the
Environment
As the use of geothermal energy becomes
more prevalent in the world we live in, people
will begin to worry if this will be as
detrimental as the effects fossil fuels have on
the environment. Well, not to worry, as the
use of geothermal lava has almost perfect
ratings as it is one of the few energy
harnessing methods that do not reward the
environment negatively. It produces roughly
99% less carbon dioxide, 97% less sulfur
compounds than a fossil fuel plant, and scrubs
away hydrogen sulfide from the geothermal
reservoirs.
Opinion
In our opinion, geothermal power is a great source of energy. Its uses are amazing
with the variety of things it's used for, it's very needed as it would be impossible to
replace it with something that has all the characteristics of geothermal energy. We
humans are living proof that geothermal energy is very important as everyone uses
it in their daily lives. Its inexhaustible energy, on average its very accessible, its
environmentally friendly and most likely in the future it will be a very useful
source of energy for new things to come and new things to discover.
Conclusion
Geothermal heat is one of the cleanest and most efficient way to produce
energy that currently exists and it is the longest dating naturally occurring
energy source that is made useful to our lives. It is very advantageous but
due to its setup cost, it will be a while until this energy can be used as a
mainstream energy source. Geothermal heat has impacted society, the
environment, and technology in a positive manner and as a result, the quality
of our lives have increased greatly.
