The Principles
of Dusting

s.
Scrubbing
• It is the best way to physically remove dirt, debris and
microorganisms

• Friction aids in mechanical cleaning. Use a brush when

cleaning a grooved surface. Scrubbing should be done
with a firm and even stroke.
• Dry sweeping, mopping, and dusting should be
avoided to prevent dust, debris and
microorganisms from getting into the air and
landing on clean surfaces.

• Dust clings to the moist surfaces. Therefore, the

dusting can be done best by a damp duster or by
an oiled cloth. A dry duster scatters the dust.
• Routine cleaning is necessary to maintain a
standard of cleanliness.

• Cleaning products should be selected on the

basis of their use, efficacy and cost.

• Albuminious materials (body discharges) are

coagualted by heat. It should be removed with
cold water.
• Bacteria grow in the dark, moist, and unclean
places.

• Exposure to sunlight destroys some bacteria.

• In cleaning, it is best to follow the the topmost
first and bottom last.
