Class Activity: "System Components Exploration"
Objective:
The goal of this activity is to engage students in exploring and
identifying various elements of a system and understanding the role
of a system analyst in the context of different system components.
Instructions:
1. Group Formation:
• Divide the students into small groups (3-4 members in each group).
2. Component Identification:
Each groups to identify and list the key components of the assigned system.
Components may include hardware, software, people, data, and procedures.
Hardware Components:
• Computers: Used for patient record management, scheduling, and billing.
• Medical Devices: Integration with devices for patient monitoring and diagnostics.
• Networking Infrastructure: Enables communication between different departments
and systems.
Software Components:
• Electronic Health Record (EHR) Software: Centralized system for storing and
managing patient medical records.
• Appointment Scheduling Software: Facilitates the scheduling of patient
appointments with doctors.
• Billing and Invoicing Software: Manages financial transactions, insurance claims, and
billing.

• Doctors and Nurses: Use the system to update patient records, prescribe
medications, and schedule treatments.

medications.
• Appointment Data: Details about scheduled appointments, including date, time, and
assigned doctor.
