Climate
The climate is highly hot and humid
at the lower altitudes and in the
valleys covered by swampy dense
forest particularly in the eastern
section, while it becomes exceedingly
cold in higher altitudes. The rainfall of
Arunachal Pradesh in amongst the
heaviest in the country.

Recorded Forest Area
(RFA) in the State
is 51,407 sq km of which
10,589 sq km is
Reserved Forest, 9,779 sq
km is Protected Forest
and 31,039 sq km is
Unclassed Forest.
Culture
The culture of Arunachal
Pradesh is truly varied in
the sense that the state
has 26 major tribes
including sub-tribes. Every
tribe has their own unique
set of traditions and
customs. The major tribes
of Arunachal are: Adi,
Galo, Aka, Apatani,
Nyishi, Tagins, Bori, and
Bokar etc
Tradition
Since agriculture is the main
occupation, there are various
festivals where people pray and
thank god for a good harvest. Some
of the prominent festivals celebrated
in Arunachal Pradesh are Losar,
Solung, Boori-Boot, Mopin, Dree,
Nyokum, Reh, Si-Donyi, etc.
Occupation
Agriculture is the
main occupation of
Arunachal Pradesh's
people. Jhum
cultivation is the
major occupation
practised by the
farmers.
Food
Rice. Rice- The Staple Food of
Arunachal

•Lukter. Beef sprinkled with
chilly flaked while being
smoked dry.
•Pehak. chutney made with
chilli and fermented soya
beans.

Symbols-

Mithun animal is the
state animal of Nagaland
and Arunachal Pradesh.
It is found in Northeast
India, China, Bangladesh
and Myanmar.
3)Bird
The great hornbill (Buceros bicornis),
also known as the concave-casqued
hornbill, great Indian hornbill or great
pied hornbill, is one of the larger
members of the hornbill family. It
occurs in the Indian subcontinent
and Southeast Asia.
4)Flower
Foxtail
orchid (Rhynchostylis
retusa), of the Vanda
genus, is the state flower of
Arunachal Pradesh. Locally,
it is called Kopou Phool.
5)Tree
Hollong is a medium
hardwood, timber tree. It
grows naturally in forests
of upper Assam and
Arunachal Pradesh. Hollong is
a sacred tree for Moran
community of Assam.
Economy
At current prices,
Arunachal
Pradesh’s GSDP is
estimated to
reach Rs. 29,372
crore (US$ 3.69
billion) in 2022-
23.
Religions
The religious landscape of
Arunachal Pradesh is
diverse with no single
religious group representing
the majority of the
population. A relatively
large percentage of
Arunachal's population are
nature worshippers
