Flock printing

• 1- small fibres
Flock length from 0.25 - 5 mm- fine
• 2- Adhesive Flock length from 0.4 - 1.1 mm- Course
• 3- Fabric (cotton, rayon, nylon and polyester)

Flocking is defined as the application of fine particles to adhesive coated

surfaces.
Done by the application of a high-voltage electric field.
In a flocking machine the "flock" is given a negative charge whilst the
substrate is earthed.
Flock material flies vertically onto the substrate attaching to previously
applied glue.
A flock print has a velvety, fuzzy surface. The foil (0.5 mm) is
somewhat thicker than flex, which causes the design to appear
slightly elevated from the apparel and results in the plush feel. The
colors have a soft glow to them.
Four application methods of
Flock printing
• electrostatic,
• beater bar/gravity,
• spraying
• and transfers.
