Also known as the web, WWW or W3 -- refers to all the
public websites or pages that users can access on their local
computers and other devices through the internet. These
pages and documents are interconnected by means of
hyperlinks that users click on for information. This
information can be in different formats, including text,
images, audio and video.

World Wide Web consists of multiple components that


enable users to access various resources, documents
and web pages on the internet. Thus, the WWW is like
a vast electronic book whose pages are stored or
hosted on different servers worldwide.
Tim Berners-Lee invented the
World Wide Web in 1989. Tim
Berners-Lee is a British computer
scientist. His parents were early
computer scientists, working on
one of the earliest computers.
Timothy John Berners-Lee
Born on 8 June 1955 in
London, England. He studied at
The Queen's College, Oxford, from
1973 to 1976, where he received a
first-class Bachelor of Arts degree
in physics.

Basically, this first version of the Web consisted of a


few people creating web pages and content and web
pages for a large group of readers, allowing them to
access facts, information, and content from the
sources.
