Nevruz

Festival
Nevruz is a well
known festival that
Turks celebrate on
every March 21.
 According to Epic of Ergenekon, old Turks found a way to
escape the mountain range that surrounds around them, that day
was 21st March and they started to acknowledge it as the
beginning of spring and started to celebrating it every year to the
present day.
 In Nevruz Turks lights a
campfire and we prepare it in a
traditional way because fire is
sacred amongst Turks.

As we believe that fire

cures sickness and purifies us,
we wish something good and
jump over the fire.
 As people jump over the fire, crowd cheers them
up and we get to see funny moments.
 After the wishing ceremony crowd has a feast, sings
songs and goes to meadows to chill.
 And the main purpose of this tradition is remembering
and experiencing our old lifestyle, which is pretty important
if you ask me.
