Why we use IPv6 addresses instead of IPv4 addresses

1.What is Ip Address ?

 An IP address (Internet Protocol address) is a unique numerical label assigned

to each device connected to a computer network that uses the Internet
Protocol for communication. It allows devices to communicate with each
other and identify themselves on a network.
 An IP address consists of four numbers separated by dots (e.g., 192.0.2.1).
Each number can range from 0 to 255, giving a total of approximately 4.3
billion possible unique addresses.
2.IP addresses serve two main purposes:

 1. Identification: They identify a device on a network, much like a phone

number identifies a phone.
 2. Location: They help route data packets to the correct device on a network,
similar to how a postal address helps deliver mail to the right location.
3.Types of Ip Address ?
1. Private IP addresses:
 - RFC 1918 addresses (e.g., 192.168.1.1, 10.0.0.1, 172.16.0.1)
 - Used for local area networks (LANs)
 - Not routed on the internet

2. Public IP addresses:
 - Assigned by Internet Service Providers (ISPs) or
Regional Internet Registries (RIRs)
 - Routable on the internet
 - Used for servers, websites, and public services
3. Static IP addresses:
 - Manually assigned and remain constant
 - Often used for servers, printers, and critical devices
4. Dynamic IP addresses:
 - Assigned automatically by DHCP servers
 - Change periodically (e.g., when a device reconnects to a network)
4.Diff btw ipv4 and ipv6 ?
5.Classes of ipv4 ?
6.Why we use IPv6 addresses instead of
IPv4 addresses
 - IPv4 addresses are limited and exhausted-
 IPv6 offers a much larger address space
 -IPv6 has built-in security features
 - IPv6 enables easier device mobility and communication
 - IPv6 allows for better prioritization of internet traffic
 - IPv6 simplifies network configuration and management
