 1.PREPOSITION OF PLACE
1. ABOVE (to higher place or position than) / ON (to position touching part of
surface).
Ex : The lamp is above the table.
That book is on the table.

2. UNDER / BELOW (to a lower place or level than).

Ex : Have you looked under the bed?
We saw the sea below us.
• 3. IN (at a point within an area or space, surrounded by sth) / AT (used to
show where sb/sth is).
Ex: I put my book in my bag.
She works at Muwardi hospital.

• 4. BESIDE / NEXT TO / NEAR (at a short distance away from sb/sth).

Ex: The television is beside the cupboard.
The police station is next to the bank.
Do you live near here?
• 5. BETWEEN (to the space or time that separates two points)/ AMONG
(used when you are sharing sth between people).
Ex: Q comes between P and R in the alphabet.
Divide the cake among the class.

• 6. BEHIND (to the back of sb/sth), IN FRONT OF (ahead of sb/sth).

Ex: He is behind the rest of the class.
The market is in front of the school.

Ex: The building was built in 1995.

 3. Agency or instrumentality (method)
Used to describe a thing which a reason or the cause of another thing
that occurs in the sentence.
