EYE GLASS CARE

When cleaning eye glass to

prevent
breaking(or)scratching the
lenses
Glass lenses can be cleaned

with warm water and dried


with soft tissue that will not
scratch
EYE GLASS CARE

Plastic lenses are easily

scratched and may require


special cleaning solutions and
drying tissue
All glass should be places in an

appropriately labeled case and


stored in the client bed side
table drawer
CONTACT LENS CARE

Contact lenses thin ,

curves disks of hard


(or)soft plastic , fit on the
cornea of eye directly over
the pupil
ADVANTAGES OF CONTACT LENS

They cannot be seen and thus


have cosmetic value
They are highly effective in
correcting some astigmatisms
They are safer than glasses
for some physical activities
They provide better vision in
many cases
SOFT CONTACT LENS

Soft contact lenses cover the

entire cornea
The duration of extended wear

by brand from 1to30days or


more
Eye specialists recommend

that long wear brands be


removed and cleaned at least
once a week
GAS PERMEABLE LENSES

To provide clear vision but are

most flexible than the


traditional hard lens
They permit oxygen to reach

the cornea , thus providing


greater comfort and will not
cause serious damage to the
eye

detailed cleaning instruction
Depending on the type of lens

cleaning methods used warm

special rinsing or soaking
solutions may be used

When only a few artificial teeth are needed the
invididual may have a bridge rather then a plate,
A bridge may fixed or removable
People who are wear dentures or other type of oral
protheses should be encouraged to use them
The prothesis re ill-fitting can be cause discomfort ,
chewing difficulties and caused by oral problem also
They need to be cleaned regularly at least once day
They can be removed from the mouth scrubbed with a
tooth brush rinsed with water

A hearing aids is a battery –powered , sound –


amplifying device used by people with hearing
impairments
There are several types;
 behind the ear open fit(BTE)
 behind the ear with earmold(BTE)
 In the ear aid(ITE)
 In the canal aid(ITC)
 completely in the canal(CIC)

Soap , water, and towel ,or damp cloth
Pipe cleaner or tooth pick
New battery
procedure

Explain the procedure to the patient


Provide privacy
Wash hands
Remove the hearing aid
Disconnect the earmold from the body hearing aid
Soak it the mild soapy solution , rinse and dry it well
wipe the earmold with damp cloth
Check earmold opening are patent
Insert the hearing aids
