Overview
The Tactical Airfield Lighting
Kit (TALKIT) is a versatile
man portable landing light
system that allows

PRACTICAL (QUICK SET MODE)
1. Press and Hold ON/SCROLL
Operating the Lights Units in Quick Set
buttons until “Q” is displayed on
Mode the dot matrix and the RF mode
indicator illuminates. Releases the
ON/SCROLL button.
2. Press the ON/SCROLL button
again to toggle between RF and
Manual Modes.
3. Press OFF/OK button to select
required Mode.
•If Manual Mode is selected the
Lights Units will operate in White
steady intensity.
•If RF Mode is selected the light
unit will illuminate when activated
by the MSU.

MSU Programming Functions

All NVG

1. Press ALL NVG button to override all programming.


2. Press TRANSMIT button and Light Units in all group
and on all channels are set to NVG operation.

All Off(RF Stand-By)


1.Press the ALL OFF button to override all
programming.
2.Press TRANSMIT button to switch off all light Units in
all groups, on all channels.

MANUAL:
Operating the Lights Units In Manual Program Mode
i. To select Manual Program
Mode

1.Press OFF/OK and ON/SCROLL


buttons simultaneously and hold
until PR is displayed, then
release. Scrolls to the right and
G is displayed.
2.Press ON/Scroll button to
scroll through the Group Menu
until M is displayed.
3.Press OFF/Ok button to select
M (Manual Mode). The display
change to R, which is the first
color selection available on the
color menu.

PRACTICAL
Radio Frequency Program Mode
i. To select RF Mode

PR is displayed, then release. PR
scrolls to the right and G1 is
displayed.
2.Press ON/SCROLL button to scroll
the Group menu until desired group is
displayed.
3.Press OFF/OK button to select group
G1-G4, RF Mode. The display changes
to CL. Which is the first selection
available on the Channel Menu.

Switching Off Lights Units- All Modes

1. Press OFF/OK button until no more menu options are


displayed.
2. Press and hold OFF/OK buttons until X is displayed on dot
matrix, then release the button. The display will be
extinguished and the light Unit is switched off.

TALKIT Charging

Battery Charge Status

The battery charge status can be checked when the light Unit is
switched off.

To check Light Unit battery charge status, preform the following :

1. Press the OFF/OK or ON/SCROLL button briefly. The


battery charge status will be displayed on the dot matrix.
After approximately two seconds the display will change to
show the programing status.

2. To check the MSU charge status, press the ON/OFF switch


to switch the MSU on. The battery charge status will be shown
on the GROUP dot matrix display.

TALKIT Charging
To charge MSU and light Unit batteries proceed as follows:

1.Position the case/charger on a suitable horizontal surface.


Unlock and rise the lid to vertical position.
2.Lift the hinged side panel to the vertical position.
3.Unlock the two sliding catches which retain the hinged
transport bracket. Engage the support plate on the side-
hanged flap to secure the kid in the upright position.
4.Plug in AC power lead to AC inlet socket.
5.Connect power supply DC output lead to DC power inlet
socket on charging cradle.
6.Connect MSU charging lead to MSU charge socket on
charging cradle.
7.Connect AC power lead to a suitable AC mains generator
outlet socket and switch on supply.
8.Press ON/OFF switch to switch on the battery charger
power supply. The green LED designated DC OK illuminates
and the battery charger is energized with the cooling fan
running.
