The IHS Markit Indonesia Manufacturing PMI

• The IHS Markit Indonesia Manufacturing PMI edged up to 53.7 in January 2022 from 53.5 a
month earlier, representing the fifth straight month of improving business conditions as the COVID-
53.7 19 situation was under control.
• Output growth accelerated further, new orders rose the most in three months and foreign sales
increased at a record pace.
• Vendor performance improved for the first time in a year, on better domestic
transport conditions. Backlogs of work continued to build, and at a faster rate from December,
reflecting increased demand and shipping delays.
• On prices, input cost inflation eased from December's recent peak while output price inflation
remained solid and little changed from that seen in December.
• Finally, sentiment remained positive despite the reading hitting its lowest since May 2020.
