Introduction
 Medical laboratory -
 is a part of laboratory that is equipped with various biochemical
instrument and reagent for performing different lab diagnostic

activities by using biological specimen.
 In the current health care delivery system is very important to
improve quality of health care.
Practical attachment refers to a period of hands-on training or

work experience.
During a practical attachment allows students to gain practical

experience,

To develop relevant skills, and understand the day-to-day
activities & challenges.
Know based on colleges practical attachment program we

have assigned at wolkite university hospital to apply
theoretical knowledge in to practical skill at major courses
like:-
 hematology I &II,immunohematology,
 bacteriology I&II ,Virology,mycology,serology ,and
4 histopathology

Significance of practical attachment
To develop theoretical knowledge in to practical experience in the work

area.
To improve smooth communication with staff and our instructor and our
customer (our patients).
to get great experience, skills and knowledge; and also to get new idea by
sharing knowledge with staff member.
To reduce waiting time for a patient
reduce work load by practice members’ support in all service like sample
collection, registering book and other medical laboratory service.

DISCUSTION
Based on our second two week plan, some tests were lower
than we planned for example:-
 Performing CBC
 Performing cross match
 Collecting blood sample
 Preparing KOH wet mount
 Examining KOH wet mount
The reason behind under achievement due to lack of CBC

reagent, decreasing of patient fellow ,and physicians also can't
request some test.

 Generally, most of the tests are achieved because
 All students working properly in their assigned place
 All students are arriving on time each work place &
 The instructor has helped us with their knowledge & supervision
 the second two week clinical attachement stay
 we meet the Stated aim.

Cooperation

Problem faced
Illegibility of Physician hand writting
Language barrier to communicate effectively
 Lack of CBC reagent
 Lack of Drink water

SOLUTION ATTEMPTED
Communicate with the lab head in supply Reagents were
purchased by communicating with medical director
illgeblityof physician hand writing is checked by senior staff
using local language translator

LIMITATION
Differential count & Culture media is not performed in the hospital
 Test Like ELISA test can not performed in hospital
 Histopathological test can not done hospital

CONCLUSION
We obtained good practical skill; knowledge ;& atitude almost all courses
in the 2st 2-weeks.
Generally we have almost good achievements in all courses
And we will continue the remaining week activity such as
We work to gain better knowledge by discussing in groups,
Preparing discussion topics for each weeks.
Asking of questions our instructor & laboratory staffs.

RECOMMENDATIONS
First we would like to recommend HHSC should provide
adequate gloves & PPE.
Secondly we would like to recommend the WUSH should

provide supplies and reagents to avoid service interruption and
The hospital Should perform Differential Counts , Culture and ,
ELISA.
Thirdly we would like to recommend the WUSH should provide

adequate and clean patient toilets.
