USE OF CHEMICALS FRUITS AND VEGETALBES

INTRODUCTION:
 Most of the fruits and vegetables that you eat are loaded with chemicals and pesticides
 These are primarily used by the farmers during the cultivation to save the fruits and vegetables from pests and
harmful insects
 However the residue pesticides and chemicals stay on the surface of the fruits & vegetables
 In the past decade there has been a tremendous increase in the yields of various crops to meet the demand of
overgrowing population , achieve by chemicals
 By eating these chemical-mixed foods people are falling a victim to cancer , lung damage , loss of appetite ,
irritability problems

OBJECTIVES :
Pesticides and Herbicides: Farmers may use pesticides and herbicides to protect crops from pests
and weeds, respectively. These chemicals help prevent crop damage and improve yield but need to be used judiciously
to minimize environmental impact and potential health risks.

Fertilizers: Chemical fertilizers are often used to provide essential nutrients to crops, promoting growth and
improving yield. However, excessive use can lead to nutrient runoff, soil degradation, and water pollution.

Preservatives: Chemical preservatives may be added to fruits and vegetables to extend their shelf life, prevent
spoilage, and maintain freshness during storage and transportation. Common preservatives include sulfites, benzoates,
and sorbates.

Ripening Agents: Ethylene gas and other chemical agents may be used to induce ripening in fruits, allowing
them to be harvested early and transported long distances while still reaching optimal ripeness.

Wax Coatings: Some fruits and vegetables are coated with food-grade waxes, often derived from natural
sources like beeswax or synthetic materials, to enhance appearance, reduce moisture loss, and prolong shelf life.

Cleaning and Sanitizing Agents: Chemicals such as chlorine-based sanitizers or hydrogen


peroxide may be used to clean and sanitize fruits and vegetables during processing and packaging to reduce microbial
contamination and improve food safety.
PROGRESS OF 1ST WEEK (PRELIMINARY SURVEY)

• Started survey on my village usage of chemicals on fruits and vegetables.


• And survey about usage of chemicals to the crop.
• Then some fruits like mango having malformation fungal disease .
• Then banana having bunch top and wild disease.
• Survey of vegetables like tomato having fungal disease that has appear on gray white
powder on the leaves.
LEARNING OUTCOMES

 From survey I learn their problems and who they cultivate land
and what they using pesticides and fertilizers.
 What they getting benefits ? And loss of their crops.
 Crop duration?
 What is the capacity of soil to grow plants?

 Started working on problem facing a farmer .
 Plants unhealthy ness.
 low yielding .
 Using of fertility to the land .
 Using of more pesticides.

 I learn about their problems and their background of their
field .
 From this week survey I learn about the effecting of insects
and so many problems facing .
 So the peoples are using more pesticides to avoid of insects.
 I to solve their problem I fixed then I will help to them I will
search in goggle and give some suggestions to the farmers.

 I above weeks we learn about using of chemicals to avoid of insects and disease.
 In this weeks I give awareness to the farmers .how to use of chemicals and fertilizers.
 The planting vegetable plants by using pesticides to avoid the diseases from plants.
 Then visited houses to awareness program from near houses.
 Then explain about the cropping to use some pesticides are good.
AWARENESS LEARNING OUTCOMES

• I learn about some new ideas from farmers and to know how to use .
• Then some farmers i to advice use some pesticides what is searched
in google .
• And I explain more using of chemicals is not easy and take care of
your health.
• Then I explain fast to fruit using of chemicals and using is good
quantity.
