Introduction

• Contagious crop diseases

• Lack of agricultural automation

• Rising demand

• Increasing wastage
Introduction

Onion diseases :
A] Black Mould
• Discolored black colour around the neck
• Powdery black spores on outer dry scales
B] Green Mould
• Bulbs are discoloured green around the neck
• Affected scales shrivel
• The central fleshy scales can get affected
C] Pink Root Rot
• Reduced bulb size
• Roots may die and plants become weakened
• Roots turn pink or maroon

Results & Discussion

• For the first set of experiments, the total number of files considered was
29, of which 21 were used for training and 8 were used for testing. The
training accuracy and validation accuracy were recorded at about
71.72% and 75% respectively.
Conclusion

• The purpose of writing this paper, CNNs are an

effective instrument for detecting onion bulb disease. For high
accuracy and generalization, a well-prepared dataset and an
optimized CNN design are essential. In order to identify onion
bulb diseases more accurately using CNN models and to create
real-time disease detection systems for crop management, more
study is required. In future, an appropriate dataset with accurate
labelling will be generated for better output using this CNN
method.
