Functions:

• This relay serves as the power source of the

ECU and circuit opening relay.

• It functions to prevent voltage drops in the

ECU circuit.
Circuitry
 Operation

• Current flows to the relay coil when the ignition

switch is ON. The points make contact and
current flows through the fusible link to both the
ECU and the circuit opening relay for the fuel
pump.

• A malfunction of the main relay will cause the

points to open, terminating the supply of power
to the ECU and the circuit opening relay. This will
cause the engine stoppage.
