● Semantics is the branch of linguistics concerned with the meaning of
words and phrases in language.
● It Examines How words and Sentences convery meaning and how
meaning is understood by speakers and listeners.

Example :
● Synonym: "Clever" and "smart" have the same meaning, both describing
someone's intelligence. (Sinonim : "Cerdas" dan "pintar" memiliki makna yang
sama, keduanya menggambarkan kecerdasan seseorang.)
● Hewan" is a hypernym of "kucing", "anjing", dan "burung" because all of
these are types of animals. ("Hewan" adalah hiperonim dari "kucing", "anjing",
dan "burung" karena semua ini adalah jenis hewan.)

3. SENTENCES
● A SENTENCE is neither a physical event nor a physical object. It is,
conceived abstractly, a string of words put together by the grammatical
rules of alanguage.
A sentence can be thought of as the ideal string of words behindvarious
realizations in utterances and inscriptions.
Example
● I love spending time with my family on weekends. (Saya suka
menghabiskan waktu dengan keluarga di akhir pekan.)
● She enjoys cooking delicious meals for her friends. (Dia menikmati
memasak makanan lezat untuk teman-temannya.)

4. Utterances
● An utterance refers to any spoken, written, or otherwhise expressed
linguistic expression,typically within a context commnication.
Example :
Simple sentence: • “Pxgotmgt”
● Hello! • “Schplotzenpflaaaaaaargh!”
(not speech because this series of sounds
● "I"m hungry.-“ does not come from any language).
5. PROPOSITION
Preposition is part of the meaning of a declarative sentence describe several situations.
Ussualy involve people or things circumatances that meaning by expressions in sentences
and situations or actions they face.
Example :
● All humans are mortal. (Semua manusia adalah makhluk fana.)
● The sun rises in the east. (Matahari terbit di timur.)
● Education is the key to success. (Pendidikan adalah kunci kesuksesan)

7. Sense
● Refers to the ability to feel or perceive something through the five senses
or mental understanding.
● Can mean physical abilities, such as the ability to see, hear, taste, smell or
feel something.
● Can also refer to understanding, intuition, or meaning contained in a
situation or statement.
Example :
● She has a keen sense of smell, able to detect even the faintest scents.
( Dia memiliki indra penciuman yang tajam, mampu mendeteksi bahkan
aroma yang paling samar.)
