Introduction
• The research focuses on diesel engine speed, thermal efficiency, and volumetric efficiency.
• A small engine test bed with a dynamometer, diesel engine, analyzer, and Vehicle Data Acquisition System (VDAS)
will be used for testing.
• The dynamometer measures torque and rotational speed, essential for efficiency calculations.
• The engine’s specifications include details like dimensions, fuel type, power output, compression ratio, and oil type.
• The analyzer and VDAS collect data from sensors on the engine to calculate efficiencies and develop the predictive
model.
• The goal is to gain insights into diesel engine performance to help develop more efficient and sustainable engine
technologies.
• Diesel engines are crucial in transportation, power generation, and industrial machinery due to their efficiency and
durability.

Conclusion
• The study found a direct relationship between engine RPM and both thermal and volumetric efficiency.
• As RPM increases, both thermal and volumetric efficiency also increase, indicating better performance at higher
speeds.
• Conversely, as RPM decreases, thermal and volumetric efficiency decrease, showing reduced performance at
lower speeds.
• Higher RPM improves thermal efficiency by enhancing the engine’s ability to convert heat energy from fuel into
work.
• Increased RPM also boosts volumetric efficiency, improving the engine’s ability to draw in the air-fuel mixture at
higher speeds.
• These findings offer insights into diesel engine performance at different speeds, aiding in engine design and
operation.
