(batch 36 student) Chandrayaan-3 Mission India’s third lunar mission Chandrayaan 3 made history on 23rd of August 2023 by successfully achieving a soft landing on the surface on moon. Three main objectives of Chandrayaan 3 was to achieve a soft landing on the surface of moon,to demonstrate rover roving on the moon and to conduct scientific experiments in order to search if living is possible on the moon or not. VIKRAM LANDER AD ITS ROLE IN CHANDRAYAN MISSION Chandrayaan’s lunar lander namely VIKRAM LANDER had the following payloads. Chandra’s Surface Thermophysical Experiment (ChaSTE) to measure the thermal conductivity and temperature. Instrument for Lunar Seismic Activity (ILSA) for measuring the seismicity (the occurrence of earthquake in any region) around the landing site. Langmuir Probe (LP) to estimate the plasma density ad its variations. A passive laser Retroreflector Array from NASA for lunar laser ranging studies. THANK YOU….
