Introduction
The term "E-waste," which stands for
"electrical and electronic waste," refers to
any devices of this kind that are
discarded after being used, including
computers, televisions and refrigerators.
E-waste has become an increasingly
significant issue; however, the quantity
of electronic waste that is wasted poses a
major risk to human health and the
environment worldwide.
1.1 Background of Study

• Global e-waste production reached 53.6 million metric


tons in 2019, averaging 7.3 kg per capita

• E-waste volume is expected to continue rising, projected


to exceed 74 million tons annually by 2030 In Malaysia,
household e-waste collection could contribute an
additional 10-15% to global scheduled waste generation
(Ismail & Hanafiah, 2021).

1.5 Scope of Study
● The research aims to increase awareness among residents regarding knowledge and
practices related to e-waste management within the community.

● Demographic characteristics such as age, gender, educational background, and


socioeconomic status will be examined to understand their influence on waste
management practices among residents.

● The research will involve surveying 382 individuals using questionnaires and
conducting data analysis to provide insights into e-waste management practices in
Bandar Saujana Putra.
1.6 Significant of Study
● Understanding residents' knowledge, awareness, and practices regarding e-waste
management is crucial in addressing this issue.

● Individual characteristics that systematically affect proper electronic waste


management behaviors will also be investigated.
