Draw a Diagram ~ Let’s Watch

$5.50 $2

pen pencil 5 × $2 = $10

pen pencil $235 – $10 = $225
$5.50 + $2 = $7.50
……

$225 ÷ $7.50 = 30
pen pencil
$235 30 + 5 = 35

Jeff spent $80.50 on some rulers and erasers.
Each ruler cost $1.50 and each eraser cost
$0.70. He bought 5 more erasers than rulers.

Susie packs 5 kg of flour into packets of 200 g
and packets of 250 g. There are 2 more packets
of 250 g than packets of 200 g. How many
packets of 250 g did she pack?

Draw a Diagram ~ I Can Do
Are you correct?
5 kg = 5 × 1000
250 g 200 g
= 5000 g
5000 – 500 = 4500
The mass of the equal number of
250-g and 200-g packets is 4500 g.
……

5 kg 250 + 200 = 450

A 250-g packet and a 200-g
packet weigh 450 g altogether.
4500 g ÷ 450 g = 10
There are 10 such sets.
2 × 250 g She packs 10 packets of 200 g.
= 500 g
10 + 2 = 12
She packs 12 packets of 250 g.
