ASSIGNMENT:

AI PROJECT CYCLE
CLASS- 10
By Debanjan Bandopadhyay
Class - 10B
Roll No. - 13
CASE STUDY
Project Description: In the peaceful village of DataTown, a group of
young learners from DownTown School decided to create an AI project to
help their community. The issue was that the plants in the community
garden sometimes got too much or too little water. It was important to
build a smart garden system that could water itself
Assuming yourselves as the young learners, you are supposed to
adventure into the AI Project cycle including the 4Ws and come up with a
suitable solution.
In detail write down all the important steps of the AI Project cycle
including the 4Ws.
STEPS IN AN AI PROJECT CYCLE
Problem definition: This is where you identify the
Modelling:This is where you design and
01 problem that you want to solve with AI, and define
the objectives, scope, and requirements of the train the AI model that will perform the
project. 04 desired task, using various algorithms,
frameworks, and tools.
Data Acquisition:This is where you collect and
02 process the data that is relevant to the problem,
and ensure its quality, validity, and diversity. Evaluation:This is where you test and
05 validate the performance of the AI model,
and make improvements or adjustments as
Data Exploration:The process of arranging the
needed.
03 gathered data uniformly for a better
understanding. Data can be arranged in the form
of a table, plotting a chart, or making a database.
01 PROBLEM SCOPING

Define the Problem: The community garden faces inconsistent

watering, leading to overwatering or underwatering of plants.
Identify
Stakeholders: The young learners, community members, and
plants are key stakeholders.
Set Clear Objectives: Create a self-watering smart garden
system that optimizes water usage and ensures healthy plant
growth.
4 Ws Canvas
• Who?
Young Learners from DownTown School: The primary developers and implementers of
the AI project.

Community Members of DataTown: Beneficiaries who will enjoy the improved

community garden.

Teachers and Mentors: Provide guidance and support throughout the project.

Local Government or Community Leaders: Might offer resources, permissions, or

support for the project.

Potential Sponsors or Tech Companies: Could provide funding or technological

resources.
• What?
Project Goal:
• To develop a smart garden system that autonomously regulates watering based on the needs of the
plants, ensuring they receive the right amount of water.

Key Features of the Smart Garden System:

• Sensors: Soil moisture sensors to measure the water content in the soil.

• Weather Data Integration: Use weather forecasts to anticipate rain and adjust watering schedules.

• AI Algorithms: Machine learning models to predict the optimal watering times and amounts based on
historical data.

• Automation System: An irrigation system controlled by the AI model, including pumps, valves, and
timers.

• Mobile App or Dashboard: For monitoring the garden’s status and manually overriding the system if
necessary.
• Where?
Location:
•Community Garden in DataTown: The primary implementation site for the smart garden
system.

Development and Testing:

•DownTown School: Initial development and testing of the system can be conducted in
school labs or small prototype gardens.

Potential Expansion:
•Other community gardens or individual home gardens in DataTown, if the project is
successful.
• Why?
•Optimal Plant Health: Ensuring plants receive the right
amount of water promotes healthier growth.
•Water Conservation: Prevents over-watering, thereby
conserving water.
•Community Engagement: Involves the community in
technological innovation and environmental sustainability.
•Educational Value: Provides a hands-on learning experience
for students in AI and environmental science.
•Scalability: A successful project can be scaled to other gardens
and communities, promoting widespread benefits.
• Problem Statement
Our people of DataTown have a problem that the plants in the
community garden sometimes got too much or too little water.
