Vanco ANP

Active Negotiation Position

5
VANCO ANP

 Vanco checks “Qualifying Circuits” against the market and looks for alternatives

 qualifying circuits are :

– circuits installed for longer than 12 months

– circuits contracted by Vanco

 The ANP process identifies possible cost reductions from :

 existing carrier circuits

 replacing existing carriers
 re-designing components (national networks or core network)

 Pay-back in 6 months or less is expected

6
ANP – SITE QUALIFICATION
316 369 Circuits identified = 316 Sites
Selection criteria:
Installed before 01. Aug 2006

-68 Sites  SGS owned circuits

-50 Sites  Sites where there were

changes in past year

198 qual.
 Result: 198 sites qualified

125
 Sites where we could
achieve savings

 36 sites in LATAM
 96 sites Rest of World (ROW)

VANCO ANP – TECHNOLOGY CHANGE ?

 currently all Datacenters (Platinum Sites) are connected with two Leased
Lines to Verizon (or ANC) Business MPLS

 in case of major Verizon Business failure access to applications hosted at

these DCs is impossible (eg Austin)

 Point to Point Leased Lines have come came down in price, L2 VPLS networks
(ie global Ethernet) have become available.

 a potential solution to provide enhanced resiliency is to de-migrate one of the

VB circuits, and replace with a P2P connection into the regional twin SIP

 twin SIPs would be interconnected using L2 VPLS Liquid Bandwidth

technology
