Robert brown and how he discovered a nucleus in plant cells

 Robert brown was born on 21 December 1773

 He grew up to be a Scottish botanist

 Robert Brown discovered nucleus while studying


the process of fertilization under the microscope,
he found the nucleus in the reproductive cells

 This is what he said while getting interviewed : he


saw by stating that the pollen grains were alive and
living things.
His childhood

Robert Brown was born in Montrose, Scotland where his father, James, was a
Scottish Episcopal minister. After attending Mariscal College in Aberdeen, He
entered the University of Edinburgh to study medicine. He changed to the
study of botany and made botanical expeditions into the Scottish highlands.
His 2 discoveries

 Brown published his research


findings and gave speeches. His
discovery of the nucleus and its role
helped to put together the cell theory,
 Found nucleus in plant cells which states that all living organisms
are composed of cells, and cells come
from pre-
existing cells. Brown's discovery
helped to confirm the second half of
the cell theory.
