Merging Page numbers in Roman

and Arabic numerals in one file

To use different page numbers or
formats in different sections:
Roman Numerals- i, ii, iii, iv, v …
Arabic numerals- 1, 2, 3, 4, 5…
STEPS
1. Open word document.
2. Add page number (default is Arabic numerals…1, 2, 3…).
3. Don’t choose the default… choose Roman numerals (i, ii, iii, iv, v …) for the first few pages.
4. At the end of that page, click on layout> margin> custom margin> apply to: This point
forward.
5. Put cursor at the beginning of the page where you want your Arabic numerals to begin.
6. Go to insert> page number> format page number> number format: 1, 2, 3…> start at : 1
7. Click ok.
8. Select Close Header and Footer, or double-click anywhere outside the header or footer area
to exit.
