TYPES OF PROFILES
STEPS TO CREATE A PROFILE

1. Create new part file

 File/new/part template
 Don’t save the file
2. Create a sketch that is the profile of shape steel
 (On commandmanager)/sketch tab/sketch (2D sketch)/pick a front plane
 Draw section follow the picture of the shape steel profile
3. Create location points
4. Save the file with extension *.sldlfp
 Type name of profile file
 Type description
DESCRIPTION OF WELDMENT PROFILE

 Description will appear on weldment cut list table that help engineer
build material estimation table.
 The structure of description usually include:
Name of shape steel section – typical dimension of this section
 You shouldn’t type simply. You must link the value of dimension in
sketch into description.
 Example:
ANGLE - 30 x 30 x 2
REC. TUBE – 40 x 40 x 1.5
REC. TUBE – 80 x 40 x 2.2
PIPE – 27 x 2.5
DESCRIPTION OF WELDMENT PROFILE

 Link sketch dimension value into description

In sketch environment, click on typical dimensions that you want to link
 Remember or copy Primary Value of these dimensions

 Type in description
REC. TUBE – “D1@Sketch1” x “D1@Sketch1” x “D1@Sketch1”
