PRESENTATION
• 1. Select a musical instrument. Explain why you chose to speak about it.
• Talk about where it’s from (culture, geography and history).
• Describe and explain the instrument (how it looks and how it sounds).
• Talk about two music genres where to instrument is used. If there are not
two music genres where the instrument is used, compare and contrast your
instrument to another instrument in the same instrument type (ex: another
string instrument) Compare and contrast how the instrument is used in those
genres of music.
• Play a 30 second sample of the instrument.
• Summarize your presentation and answer questions from the audience.

PRESENTATION
1. Describe how the instrument sounds. Does it have a nice melody? What materials is the instrument
made from? What music genres is the instrument used in? Are there typical singers and lyrics that
in the songs where the instrument can be heard?
2. Explain where and when people typically play this instrument. Do they play on special occasions?
What country/region is this instrument popular. What is the history of this instrument.
3. Compare two genres of music in which this instrument is typically played. If there are not two
music genres where the instrument is used, compare and contrast your instrument to another
instrument in the same instrument type (ex: another string instrument) Compare and contrast how
the instrument is used in those genres of music.
4. Define any words you think your classmates won’t know.
5. In your conclusion, summarize the different aspects of the instrument that you discussed and
remind your audience of the important points from your presentation.

words for their presentation.
• Students should use their own words and ideas rather than artificial
intelligence such as ChatGPT or another student’s work (including the
PowerPoint).

teacher.
• Students should speak an equal amount of time during the presentation
• You should use at least 2 sources other than Wikipedia.
