THE WORD EIGEN IS DERIVED
FROM GERMAN
 Eigen Vector: An Eigen Vector Of a Matrix A
Corresponding To An Eigen Value  Is A Non
Zero Vector X Such That AX=X
 Formula: The Formula To Find Eigen Vector Is

(A- I)X=0
 In This Formula X Represents The Eigen Vector
Corresponding To Specific Eigen Value 
 The Eigen Vector Is Represented As X
PROPERTIES
 Eigenvectors Have Distinct Eigen Values .This Type
Of Eigenvector Is Always Linearly Independent
 The Zero Matrices Or Singular Matrix Always Has
Zero Eigen Values
EIGEN VECTOR PRINCIPLES AND THEIR
SIGNIFICANCE:
 For a square matrix A and an eigenvector v the eigen value λ
satisfies the equation AX = λX
 Reflecting on the fundamental significance of eigen values
and eigenvectors in diverse fields of science and technology

matrix is matrix is
λ3 - S1 λ2+ S2 λ- S3= 0
λ2- S1 λ+ S2= 0
Where, S1= sum of main diagonal
elements Where, S1 = sum of main diagonal

S2 = sum of minor of main diagonal elements.

elements. S2 = Det (A) =|A|

S3 = Det (A) =|A|

STEPS TO FIND
Step 1:Find the eigen values of the matrix A, using the
equation det |(A – λI)| = 0, where “I” is the identity
matrix of order similar to matrix A.
Step 2:The value obtained in Step 2 are named as, λ1, λ2, λ3….
Step 3: Find the eigenvector (X) associated with the eigenvalue λ1
using the equation, (A – λI) X = 0
Step 4: Repeat step 3 to find the eigenvector associated with other
remaining eigen values λ2, λ3….
