Orange Peel Reinforced PLA
 Contaminants that pass through plastic air
conditioning vents can cause allergy-like symptoms
such as a cough, sore throat, headache, etc.
 The newly developed material could replace plastics
used in vehicle AC vents.
 The orange peel is rich in limonene which is known
for its anti-cancerous and anti bacterial properties.
 Hence, the orange peel filler material is reinforced
with PLA matrix to make biodegradable material.
 This novel material does not create harmful effect to
Car AC Vent
both health and environment.

Gear
Wood Reinforced PLA
 Broken wooden furniture's, wooden bark from fallen trees can be
powdered and used as bio fillers to develop bio degradable parts.
 Wood reinforced PLA has the following properties

1.very low tendency to warp or shrink.

2.biodegradable and recyclable.

3.High stiffness

4.High rigidity Car gear

5.Low flexibility knob
 Automotive interiors including hand rest, gear knob can be
fabricated

Egg Shell Reinforced PLA, Snail shell reinforced
PLA, Sea shell reinforced PLA
 Parts like rear mirror holder, trim strip, glove box and
door panels are highly involved dynamic load
conditions which leads to damage and reducing the
lifespan.
 Newly developed reinforcement materials could be
used to fabricate the such automobile parts.
 These automobile parts are in need of high strength
and light weight for load bearing conditions.
 This is supported by the crystalline property present in
the newly developed material.
Pure PLA
 It is a recyclable, natural thermoplastic polyester
that is derived from renewable resources such as
corn starch or sugar cane.
 The filament is biodegradable under certain
conditions with high heat capacity and high
mechanical strength.
 Raw PLA could be used fabricate the following
automotive parts
1.Under the hood components
2.Carpeting
3.Floor mats
4.Upholstery
5.Protective wrappings
Carbon fiber reinforced PLA
 The strength of carbon fiber allows it not only
to be used to make car body parts, such as the
1.Bumpers
2.Spoilers
3.Dashboard panel
4.Floor panel
5.Interior components
6.Rear door panel
 These filaments are ideal for applications that
require superior stiffness, ease of printing,
improved dimensional stability, UV-resistance,
lighter weight parts when compared to standard
structural materials.
Ceramic Reinforced PLA
 Advanced ceramics materials are incorporated into automotive
designs when demanding conditions require a material that is
robust and reliable
 The thermal and electrical properties of ceramic materials
allow them to be used in a variety of components such as,
1.Sensors,
2.Mechanical Seals, Ceramic pressure sensors

3.Ceramic Bearings, and Valves.

 Ceramics are more cost-efficient than metal and more durable
than plastic, and can be found throughout the automotive
industry, as advances in car manufacturing require higher
complexity in automotive components

Renewable Energy
Smart tiles equipped with piezoelectric discs for efficient energy harvesting and vibration data
collection. By strategically embedding Piezo materials, these tiles convert ambient vibrations into electrical energy,
powering sensors for continuous data monitoring. The design and optimization of the tiles consider factors like
material selection and disc arrangement. Experimental results demonstrate the success of this approach in capturing
vibrations and converting them into usable power. This innovation represents a scalable and eco-friendly solution for
autonomous and wireless sensor nodes in applications such as structural health monitoring and industrial automation.
